Job summary

San Ramon Regional Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a per diem, rotating shift in the Pharmacy Department. You will assist in procurement, storage, preparation and distribution of medications under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and completion of coursework toward Pharmacy Technician licensure; hospital pharmacy experience (automation and aseptic preparation of IV meds) is highly preferred or strong retail

Qualifications

• Hospital experience in pharmacy operations including automation and aseptic preparation preferred.
• Retail pharmacy experience acceptable.
• Licensure coursework for Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in procurement, storage, preparation and distribution of medications under supervision.
• Supports pharmacists in daily operations and patient care activities.
• Performs duties in a fast-paced hospital setting and during varying shifts.

Department: Pharmacy

Assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution of medications under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High school graduate; completion of course work leading to licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.

Minimum Experience/Skills: Minimum of one (1) year experience in hospital pharmacy including automation and aseptic preparation of large volume parenterals, intravenous antibiotics, chemo-therapeutic agents, and total parenteral nutrition highly preferred OR, minimum of five (5) years recent retail pharmacy experience required.

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials

1. Pharmacy Technician license with California State Board of Pharmacy
