Job summary

Westchester Medical Center in Kingston, NY seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of the Director and staff pharmacists.

You will assist with inventory, fill patient cassettes, and deliver orders; prepare IV admixtures, and process charges in the hospital data system. This role also involves stock inspections, goal contribution, and clerical duties in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Six months of Pharmacy Tech experience required.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of inventory, i.e., stocking, receiving.
• Accurately fill patient cassettes from cart fill list.
• Pick up physicians orders and deliver medications and supplies on a routine basis.
• Prepare IV admixture according to departmental policy and procedure.
• Enter patient charges and credit into hospital data system on a daily basis.
• Perform monthly inspections for all areas of the hospital where medications are stored.
• Assist in the development of pharmacy goals and participate in reaching these goals.
• Regularly check pharmacy stock for outdates.
• Assist in the dispensing of employee prescriptions and OTCs.
• Assume general clerical duties.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
