Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the Specialty Pharmacy, located in the Purple 1 building. This in-person role focuses on customer service, mailings, and clerical tasks within a community pharmacy setting.

Under supervision, you will assist technicians and pharmacists in preparing and distributing prescriptions, handle will-call workflows, stock supplies, and maintain accurate records while upholding patient privacy and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience.
• POS / computer skills preferred.
• Second language ability (Spanish, Somali, or Hmong) preferred.
• Working toward a licensed technician certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, friendly customer service in a community pharmacy setting.
• Handles cash register transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Prepares prescriptions to be mailed or couriered to patients.
• Stocks supplies and maintains cleanliness of the dispensing area.
• Assists with returning unclaimed prescriptions to stock and supports clerical duties as assigned.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacy.
