Job summary

BJC Home Care is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to lead a team of pharmacists and technicians in our Home Infusion program. You will oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate with the Home Infusion Therapy Department to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and participate in staffing and budgeting to meet department goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• Experience: <2 years (minimum)
• RPh license and MO Medication Therapy Services certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages pharmacists, technicians and students; hires, trains, assigns work, and evaluates performance.
• Assists with pharmacy operations and integration with other departments.
• Provides pharmaceutical care appropriate to patients' needs.
• Interprets patient data to identify and resolve drug-therapy problems; ensures safe therapy.
• Coordinates and reviews the work of pharmacists, technicians and students.
• Develops/enforces pharmacy policies and procedures in line with regulations.
• May participate in budgeting and goals for department.

Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois. Serving more than 25 counties, it has become the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country.

The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Ensures the prompt and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications according to prescription orders from practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Instructs, coordinates and monitors the work activities of staff to meet patient and customer needs in accordance with the rules and regulations for pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Assists with pharmacy operations and integration with other departments.
• Provides pharmaceutical care appropriate to the needs and age of the patients served.
• Interprets patient data to identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems and ensures safe and effective drug therapy.
• Coordinates and reviews the work of Pharmacists, Technicians and Students.
• Assists in development and enforcement of pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with all hospital policies and governmental regulations
• May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
