Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA, seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to guide patient care operations, teams and programs within the Pharmacy area. The role emphasizes leadership, standardization, and alignment with hospital goals across services and 340B program activities.

The ideal candidate has a PharmD or Master’s degree and holds MA/CT licensure, with a track record of improving safety, procurement and distribution processes in a large healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; MA/CT Pharmacist license in good standing or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Leadership experience guiding pharmacy teams in healthcare settings.

Position Purpose

Accountable for leading, managing and advancing people, processes and/or programs that support patient care. Responsible for providing leadership, oversight, alignment, and standardization for assigned Pharmacy area/business line.

What you will do

• Provide leadership and accountability for delegation, choices, decisions & outcomes
• Collaborate with Pharmacy leaders, medical staff, and healthcare team to develop strategy, goals, objectives, and operational standards to ensure services and priority alignment
• I dentify analytics and metrics to demonstrate baseline and performance improvement targets
• Support medication safety measures and efficient operational processes, business development, revenue integrity, and 340B program activities
• Support training, education, coaching, and assessment of pharmacist competencies
• Support optimization of procurement and distribution processes
• Ensure colleagues are assigned to work areas to achieve established standards for operational support

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and three (3) years of pharmacist experience or 1 year of pharmacist experience and 1 year Pharmacy Practice Residency. Advanced or Master’s degree preferred (e.g., PharmD, MBA)
• MA or CT Pharmacist license in good standing or the ability to o btain state licensure within 120 days of hire
• Leadership skills motivating and empowering staff. Preferred experience working in an organization of comparable size and complexity, preferably in healthcare

Salary Range

Salary Range: $122,000 - 192,000

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
