Job summary

CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is seeking a Pharmacy Student Intern to assist pharmacists with medication preparation, compounding, inventory management, and distribution. You will help ensure accuracy, manage controlled substances per DEA/state rules, and use pharmacy automation for safe drug distribution.

You will gain practical experience while progressing in responsibilities under supervision, supporting clinical and administrative functions and collaborating with other caregivers.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Pharmacist Intern license in Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist in medication preparation and compounding.
• Support inventory management and distribution.
• Assist with controlled substances management per regulations (DEA, FDA, state).
• Manage medication storage areas using pharmacy automation.
• Field calls and questions regarding medication distribution.
• Support other caregivers within scope of practice.
• Participate in clinical and administrative functions under supervision.
• Progress in responsibilities with education and experience.
• Perform calculations and pharmacy-related tasks accurately.
