The University of Kentucky is seeking a Pharmacy Sr Tech I for On Call support at the Markey Cancer Center. This temporary position involves assisting pharmacists in medication provision in both inpatient and outpatient settings, requiring a High School diploma and national certification. Required License/Registration/Certification:National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy
Physical Requirements:May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Shift:600a-700pm Monday through Friday and 700a-500p on Saturday and Sunday. 1-4 days a week
Job Summary:Assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital and outpatient infusion setting. Prepares and compounds individual patient doses, primarily sterile hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications for adult and pediatric populations in accordance with current USP guidelines. Maintains a sterile work environment with specified cleaning procedures. Assists pharmacist and other technicians with inventory management of materials and medications.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Knowledge of inpatient drug distribution systems; ability to prioritize; strong customer service skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
