Job summary

Independence Blue Cross is seeking a Pharmacy Services Coordinator to support the clinical pharmacy team with formulary management, data analysis, and quality programs. The role requires coordinating with internal stakeholders and external PBMs, maintaining key documents, and preparing materials for P&T meetings.

A hybrid work model is in place with in-office and remote days, located in the Tri-State area. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably in healthcare, managed care, or pharmacy benefit management

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate formulary management activities and support submission to internal stakeholders or PBM
  • Maintain up-to-date formulary documents and process guides
  • Review data and coordinate tasks related to formulary management and utilization management
  • Oversee formulary management project plans and desk procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of formulary lists in online tool and prepare internal/external communication materials
  • Provide administrative support for P&T meetings and post-P&T data entry in PPS
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide clinical pharmacy support
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements by analyzing policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot issues related to audits and engage SMEs as needed

Job description

Pharmacy Services Coordinator works with the clinical pharmacy team to coordinate activities and promote operational efficiencies. The primary responsibility is to support the clinical pharmacy team related to formulary management and quality programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of formulary files and documents that support submission to internal stakeholders or the PBM.
  • Responsible to maintain up to date key pharmacy documents such as formulary file guides and process documents for record retention.
  • Review data, resolves issues and coordinates tasks associated with formulary management and utilization management.
  • Oversee Formulary Management project plans.
  • Maintain up to date desk procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of formulary lists and information in the online formulary tool.
  • Prepare materials used for internal and external formulary communication including reports, spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides.
  • Prepare documents and provide administrative support for the Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee (P&T) meetings.
  • Execute post-P&T activities including data entry in the Pharmacy Policy System (PPS).
  • Coordinate collaboration with internal stakeholders to provide clinical pharmacy support.
  • Identify & communicate opportunities for process improvements by analyzing current policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Troubleshooting & problem resolution support for issues related to internal & external audits and engaging subject matter experts, as needed.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably in healthcare, managed care, or pharmacy benefit management
Knowledge & Skills

  • Able to update and QA large data sets
  • Must be able to work independently in a collaborative environment, be self-directed and possess excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency with Visio preferred
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • Health plan or PBM experience preferred

Independence has implemented a "Hybrid" model which consists of Associates workingin the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the "Hybrid" model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, thework must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania
