University of Kentucky is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a day shift. The role involves ordering and maintaining investigational drugs, ensuring accurate documentation for monitors, and distributing drug orders for clinical studies.
Responsibilities include preparing non-sterile compounds, intravenous and chemotherapy products, and maintaining clean investigation work areas, with training and cross-functional duties as needed.
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB ( PTCE ) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
The shift is day shift, mainly Monday-Friday with some weekend and holiday requirements.
The major job responsibilities of this position are 1) ordering and maintaining investigational drugs; 2) maintain accurate record keeping system for monitors; 3) prepare and distribute investigational drug orders, remake kits for individual studies; 4) IDS is authorized to charge for costs associated with Pharmacy participation in research which is processed by this position. Also performs drug distribution activities, compounds non-sterile preparations and prepares intravenous and or chemotherapy products in accordance with established procedures; maintains the clinical investigational work areas in a clean and orderly manner; performs workload measurement support functions; performs training/educational functions; performs cross-functional and other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job classification.

Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
