Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in delivering medications at Kentucky Children's Hospital. Salary Range: $18.50/hr - 27.31/hr

Type of Position: Temporary

Position Time Status: On Call

Required Education: High School

Required Related Experience: 2 years pharmacy or related experience

Required License/Registration/Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy

Physical Requirements: May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Shift: The successful candidate must be able to work various shifts (first shift, second shift, third shift) and be available to work 1-2 weekends per month year round. Must be able to help cover extra shifts during the summer and during holiday breaks. Rotation will include at least one summer and one winter holiday.

Job Summary: Assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Prepares and delivers individual patient doses. Prepares and delivers batch doses including compounded sterile products. Participates in replenishing automated dispensing cabinets; provides customer service in Pediatric Pharmacy Satellite.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Knowledge of inpatient drug distribution systems; ability to prioritize; strong customer service skills.

Preferred Education/Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
