Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The associate will be responsible for the following duties, along with other tasks as assigned:

1. Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
2. Enter prescription information into the computer system, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation and entry, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
3. Accept customer and prescription information required for processing new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorizations from doctors where legally permitted.
4. Retrieve medications from inventory, where legally permitted.
5. Create prescription labels and affix them to containers, where legally permitted.
6. Place medication into prescription containers, where legally permitted.
7. Complete paperwork related to prescriptions and input data into the computer system, where legally permitted.
8. Maintain cleanliness and order in the Pharmacy department.
9. Assist with inventory management, including order review, returns, restocking, and inventory counts.
10. Reconstitute oral liquids, where legally permitted.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently does not include supervisory duties.

Qualification Requirements

To succeed in this role, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED, plus 600 hours of practical experience in retail or pharmacy operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
