Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt pharmacy service.
• Enter prescription information into the computer, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
• Accept customer and prescription information for new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctors where permitted by law.
• Retrieve medication from inventory as permitted by law.
• Create prescription labels and affix them to containers, where permitted by law.
• Place medication into containers, where permitted by law.
• Complete paperwork related to prescriptions and input data into the computer system, where permitted by law.
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the Pharmacy department.
• Assist with inventory management, including reviewing orders, returns, restocking, and preparing for inventory counts.
• Reconstitute oral liquids, where permitted by law.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or GED, plus 600 hours of practical experience in retail or pharmacy operations, or equivalent education and experience.
