Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Perform computer entry of prescription information, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution.
• Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctors where permitted by law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory where permitted by law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers where permitted by law.
• Place medication into prescription containers where permitted by law.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input data into the computer system where permitted by law.
• Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
• Assist in inventory management, including order review, inventory returns, restocking, and physical inventory.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by law.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED, plus 600 hours of practical experience in retail and/or pharmacy operations, or equivalent education and experience.
