Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Quality Control Engineer to ensure USP 797/800 compliance across IV rooms and CSPs. You will oversee environmental monitoring, validation programs, and staff training, coordinating with engineering and facilities to maintain certifications and optimize workflows.

The role requires 3+ years in engineering/construction with project management, plus pharmacy tech experience or 503A/503B familiarity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• Associate's Degree in engineering or construction related field; or equivalent experience (Required).
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
• 3 years working in engineering/construction field (Required).
• 3 years project management supervision and quality assurance experience with creating project schedules, supervising trades, and budget oversight.
• 1 year as pharmacy technician (preferred) including IV experience; 503A/503B knowledge preferred.
• Experience in GMP/USP IV compounding, training staff, data analysis for QA, and construction coordination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regulatory compliance for USP standards across all IV rooms and CSPs.
• Interpret and apply USP 797/800 standards to workflows and facilities.
• Develop and deliver education and training for staff on USP requirements.
• Supervise glove-fingertip testing, media-fill testing, and environmental monitoring.
• Coordinate with engineering, facilities, and users to ensure certifications are current.
• Lead project management for small/medium construction efforts, including budgets and schedules.
• Maintain documentation and records for regulatory compliance and QA processes.
