Job summary

IU Health is seeking a System Pharmacy Purchasing Analyst to enhance patient care through optimized purchasing, inventory management, and value analysis across the health system. You will bridge Pharmacy Operations, System Pharmacy Logistics and Purchasing, coordinating with multiple departments and suppliers to improve cost efficiency and clinical outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, valid Indiana Pharmacy Technician License, PTCB certification, and 5–7 years of pharmacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Indiana Pharmacy Technician License required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent).
• 5-7 years of relevant pharmacy experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business applications.
• Ability to work independently within established procedures under limited supervision.
• No criminal history related to drug offenses.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in established pharmacy value analysis processes.
• Conduct product utilization reviews and support implementation of product changes.
• Serve as the primary liaison between System Pharmacy Logistics & Purchasing and pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy stakeholders to identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost savings.
• Research, analyze, and recommend product alternatives that improve clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Create and manage purchase orders for pharmacy inventory and supplies.
• Work directly with suppliers to source products and resolve ordering issues.
• Investigate and resolve invoice holds and purchasing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchase order records and updates.
• Support inventory continuity and product availability across supported pharmacy operations.
• Lead and support change management initiatives related to pharmacy products and supply chain operations.
