University Health in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee and manage pharmacy services within their assigned area. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective pharmacy services while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will hold either a Pharm.D. or a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, with significant experience in pharmacy practice and management in a dynamic environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Pharmacy (or designee), the Pharmacy Manager oversees, plans and manages pharmacy services in their assigned functional area or physical location.
They will ensure the delivery of high‑quality, cost‑effective, and efficient pharmacy services to patients and staff in a highly matrixed and dynamic work environment.
The Pharmacy Manager assures compliance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Medicare/Medicaid standards, Texas State Board of Pharmacy, United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) 795/797/800, Department of Public Safety, Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
The Pharmacy Manager serves as a role model and ensures operational alignment with organizational strategy and pharmacy best practices.
The Pharmacy Manager will maintain good professional relations as a liaison for pharmacy service with patients, physicians, and other health care professionals in resolving problems to optimize patient care, and will assure exceptional customer service at all times to both internal and external customers.
Current Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Texas is required.
