Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks a Pharmacist for a 13-week assignment in Homer, Alaska. Dayshift, 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 2 years experience and a current Alaska license. BLS (AHA) certification is preferred.

Residency or hospital pharmacy experience is a plus. Housing options are limited but available, including pet-friendly units and furnished housing. The role involves medication preparation, compounding, dose monitoring, and safe distribution.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with PharmD or RPh credential.
  • Current Alaska pharmacist license.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and lead staff.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care setting.
  • Clinical judgment and professional responsibility with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and oversee pharmacy services, including medication preparation, compounding, pharmacist-to-dose monitoring, and safe medication distribution.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication selection, dosing, interactions, and adverse effects.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure effective use of staff and resources.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, safety, infection control, inventory control, and pharmacy committee activities.

Must-Have:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Registered Pharmacist (RPh) credential.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice professionally with minimal supervision while exercising sound clinical judgment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary patient care team.
  • Ability to supervise and support pharmacy technicians while serving as a positive role model for pharmacy staff.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including medication preparation and compounding activities and working within a secured pharmacy and clean-room environment.

Description:Provide and oversee pharmacy services, including medication preparation, compounding, pharmacist-to-dose monitoring, and safe medication distribution.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication selection, availability, dosing, interactions, side effects, and incompatibilities.Supervise pharmacy technicians and help ensure effective use of pharmacy personnel and resources.Use clinical judgment and decision-making skills to support high-quality, cost-effective patient care and improve pharmacy processes and outcomes.Assist with quality assurance, safety, infection control, environmental protection, inventory control, and pharmacy committee activities.Completion of a pharmacy residency or two years of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.We have a limited supply of housing; we always try to accommodate based on when travelers leave and incoming travelers.We do have a few units that are pet-friendly, with restrictions on pet types.All units are fully furnished and include a washer and dryer.Shared housing could be a potential option, but we strive to avoid pairing travelers who are with a spouse or partner.Cancellation Policy: may cancel any shift or part of a shift within specified limits based on assignment duration.Charting System: standard system used for record-keeping.Trauma Level: Care setting includes a variety of care levels.
