Job summary

Giant Eagle's Central Fill in Freedom, PA seeks a Pharmacy Packaging Technician to support high-volume prescription filling with robotics and automation. You’ll assist pharmacists, maintain accurate packaging, and uphold safety and quality in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• 0 to 6 months of experience required.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the state board of pharmacy.
• Experience with drug handling protocols and time-bound fulfillment processes.

Responsibilities

• Remove out of date and expired medications using proper procedures.
• Train and mentor new department team members.
• Report errors, omissions and incidents to Pharmacist on duty.
• Under supervision, perform direct preparation and filling of a prescription.
• Prepare and fill non-auto counted drugs.
• Label bottles and prepackaged items accurately.
• Replenish canisters with consumables for prescription fulfillment.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company/government requirements.
• Recognize, address and escalate system issues.
• Adhere to all company, state and federal policies, including HIPAA.
• Operate semi-automatic cabinet to fill orders.
• Maintain production rates and meet quality expectations set by leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
