Giant Eagle, Inc. is hiring for an Overnight Central Fill Pharmacy Technician. This role supports Pharmacists and ensures efficient prescription filling to keep the pharmacy running at a high level.

The position offers an 11:00pm–7:30am schedule with a $20.00/hour base pay plus a $2.00/hour shift differential. Ideal candidates have 0–6 months experience, are eligible to obtain state registration as a pharmacy technician, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience 0–6 months preferred.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Experience in drug handling protocols and time-bound fulfillment processes.

Responsibilities

• Remove out-of-date and expired medications following company procedures.
• Train and mentor new department team members.
• Report errors and incidents to Pharmacist on duty.
• Under Pharmacist supervision, prepare and fill prescriptions.
• Label bottles and prepackaged items accurately.
• Replenish canisters with consumables for prescription fulfillment.
• Maintain a clean work environment to meet regulations.
• Operate semi-automatic cabinet to fill orders.
• Maintain production rates and meet quality expectations.

Job Description

Overnight Central Fill Technicians enjoy:

• Set Schedule: Monday - Friday 11:00pm -7:30am
• Competitive Pay: $20.00/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential

Job Requirements

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Certification or Licensing Required: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
• Experience Desired: Experience in drug handling protocols and best practices in a time-bound fulfillment order process
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 10 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Remove out of date and expired medications using proper company procedures.
• Train and mentor new department Team members.
• Report errors, omissions and incidents to Pharmacist on duty.
• Perform, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the direct preparation and filling of a prescription.
• Prepare and fill non-auto counted drugs.
• Label bottles and prepackaged items accurately.
• Replenish canisters with consumables needed for prescription fulfillment.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment in order to ensure that company and government requirements are met.
• Recognize, address and recognize system issues.
• Adhere to all company, state and federal policies, laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
• Operate semi-automatic cabinet in order to fill customer orders.
• Maintain production rates and meet quality expectations as determined by leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The hiring range for this position is $20.00– $20.00 per hour/year. This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location.
