Job Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist in healthcare services under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technician personnel, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them, assisting with products and services, resolving complaints, and responding to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Build strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, with a focus on healthcare services enhancement.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and verification. Support healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings where law permits.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical tasks within legal and company policies, ensuring timely completion and workflow efficiency.
- Prepare and file reports for company and government agencies, manage pharmacy workflow, and organize daily activities.
- Ensure pharmacy cleanliness, stock levels, and proper equipment operation. Manage inventory and ensure compliance with administrative and inventory management activities.
- Oversee recordkeeping, security safeguards, and adherence to Good Faith Dispensing policies. Support asset protection and diversion monitoring.
- Communicate prescription errors to pharmacists, process insurance claims, and participate in quality improvement programs.
- Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operations, and customer service. Coordinate community outreach and off-site immunization clinics, fostering retail partnerships.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including discipline, termination, and compliance with laws. Handle hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
- Identify training gaps, support team development, and ensure licensure and certification compliance.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB or state certification, and pursue ongoing education and training. Follow performance improvement plans and seek professional growth opportunities.
Communication
- Maintain effective communication within the pharmacy team and participate in store meetings and check-ins.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital settings.
- Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
