Job Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where allowed by law.
• Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
• Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians. Make decisions regarding discipline and termination.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and patients, assist with products and services, resolve complaints, and respond to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
• Build strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and offering healthcare services to enhance their experience.

Operations

• Assist pharmacists with patient registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and verification. Support healthcare offerings like vaccines and health screenings where law permits.
• Delegate non-clinical tasks, ensure timely completion, and manage pharmacy workflow and inventory. Prepare and file reports as required.
• Drive technology and process improvements, ensure equipment maintenance, and support security and compliance policies.

People & Performance Management

• Manage pharmacy technician performance, including hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. Ensure compliance with licensing and certification requirements.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintain PTCB certification, pursue ongoing education, and seek professional growth opportunities.

Communication

• Communicate effectively with the pharmacy team and participate in meetings with store leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in English.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience.
• Previous Walgreens employment with high performance ratings.
