Job summary

Rochester General Health System is seeking an Assistant Director of Pharmacy to coordinate and oversee all operational aspects of the inpatient pharmacy department. The role includes supervising staff, implementing policies, and leading IT and quality projects to improve medication safety and efficiency.

The position requires a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, NY licensure eligibility, and at least 5 years as a pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a pharmacist.
• Ability to supervise delivery of services appropriate to diverse patient populations.
• Maintain licensure eligibility to practice in New York.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all operational aspects of the pharmacy department.
• Schedule and oversee staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
• Establish departmental dashboards and monitoring systems for quality metrics.
• Collaborate with staff to implement core processes and safety initiatives.
• Monitor environment, morale, and performance within the Pharmacy.
• Serve as liaison between departments and participate in hospital committees.
• Develop, implement, and reinforce policies and procedures.
• Partner with HR on recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development.
