Job summary

Kroger in Salem, VA seeks a licensed pharmacist to oversee all aspects of pharmacy practice within laws and corporate policies, while maximizing financial performance through budget management, inventory control and staff development.

You will lead the pharmacy team, ensure patient safety, deliver excellent customer service, and drive clinical services and third-party profitability. Travel may be required; familiarity with state boards and drug regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree (Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy) from an accredited U.S. school.
• 2+ years of related retail pharmacy experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old and licensed to practice.
• Participate in company-sponsored clinical programs and training.
• Commitment to ongoing education and confidentiality of information.
• Proven leadership and dedication to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a staff pharmacist and lead the pharmacy team.
• Develop and promote sales plans and initiatives for the division pharmacy.
• Ensure compliance with state and company requirements for pharmacy operations.
• Direct team to meet budgeted labor, volume, inventory and sales goals.
• Monitor third-party profitability, handle rejections and audits promptly.
• Schedule staff to control labor costs and ensure coverage.
• Maintain records required by law and company policies.
• Provide effective detailing to local physicians and community targets.
• Promote and participate in public health initiatives and disease state management.
