Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawaii seeks a Pharmacy Network Manager to oversee and grow the network of collaborating pharmacies under the Ho‘ōla Utelehealth Substance Use Disorder program. The role collaborates with clinical pharmacists across sites to manage SUD pharmacotherapy and reimbursement processes.

• Residency trained clinical pharmacist or equivalent work experience.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license issued by the Hawaii Board of Pharmacy.
• Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing clinical pharmacist, or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and grow collaborating pharmacies participating with the Ho‘ōla Utelehealth SUD program, working with clinical pharmacists on SUD management.
• Manage reimbursement processes for medications paid from the HUT-SUD program, and handle stockpile and logistical matters.
• Collaborate with pharmacy teams to ensure compliance, quality of care, and efficient operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Network manager will oversee and grow the collaborating pharmacies participating with the Hoʻōla Utelehealth Substance Use Disorder (HUT-SUD) program. In particular the manager will work closely with the clinical pharmacists at the collaborating locations on all issues related to SUD clinical pharmacist management. The pharmacist network manager will also manage reimbursement processes for medications paid for from the HUT-SUD program, as well as other stockpile and logistical matters.

Location: MUST RESIDE in Hawaii, 100% Remote

This is a part time position, 20 hours per week. Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with extended hours as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training/Experience

Minimum:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Residency trained clinical pharmacist or equivalent work experience.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license issued by the Hawaii Board of Pharmacy.
• Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a practicing clinical pharmacist, or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program.

Preferred:

• Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP), or Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP)
• Experience in OUD/SUD management, addiction medicine, behavioral health, or primary care.
• Experience with MOUD including buprenorphine and naltrexone management across all treatment phases.
• Experience with controlled substance inventory management or pharmacy dispensing in a clinical setting.

Minimum:

• Competency in advanced physical and mental health assessment skills, including interpretation of physical findings, vital signs, and standardized withdrawal instruments (COWS, SOWS).
• Expert knowledge of pharmacotherapy for opioid use disorder, including FDA-approved MOUD, clinical practice guidelines (e.g., SAMHSA TIP 63), and evidence-based standards of care.
• Ability to apply PDMP data, UDS results, and relevant laboratory findings to clinical decision-making.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to engage interdisciplinary team members effectively.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, including shared documentation practices.
• Knowledge of Hawaii state pharmacy law governing collaborative practice, controlled substances, and dispensing (HRS Chapter 461, HRS Chapter 329).
• Knowledge of DEA regulations governing controlled substance ordering, storage, dispensing, recordkeeping, and disposal (21 CFR Parts 1300–1321).

Preferred:

• Familiarity with telehealth service delivery platforms.
• Experience with CSOS electronic controlled substance ordering.
