Position Summary

As part of Cigna Pharmacy Management, the Cigna Pharmacy Market Manager serves as the leader of pharmacy benefits strategy and main pharmacy subject matter expert. The role involves partnering with the leadership of the Cigna Medical Sales organization in the West Region, focusing on Middle Market and Select Segment clients.

The Market Manager will develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, and broker/consultant partners to support client retention and growth. Responsibilities include leading a team of Pharmacy Clinical Account Managers and/or Pharmacy Account Executives, collaborating with Medical Sales leadership, and executing pharmacy strategies in the market.

Job Responsibilities
  • Retain and grow the assigned client portfolio through proactive management and understanding of pharmacy pricing, products, and performance guarantees.
  • Collaborate with sales teams, internal partners, clients, and brokers to optimize pharmacy benefits and promote preferred programs.
  • Educate and advance pharmacy knowledge within the Medical Sales organization and local markets.
  • Develop and maintain a market-specific pharmacy business plan to support sales and training strategies.
  • Offer and sell pharmacy management programs aligned with Cigna’s value proposition of reducing health costs.
  • Lead and support the pharmacy team, ensuring successful client implementations, renewals, and plan changes.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute market-specific pharmacy service plans.
  • Manage client assignments to team members and support hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
  • Maintain knowledge of market competition and Cigna pharmacy products.
  • Support and retain client relationships, leveraging consultative sales strategies.
  • Represent Cigna Pharmacy Management in market events and internal meetings.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of PBM experience, preferably in management and strategic planning.
  • Extensive pharmacy background (pharmacist or non-pharmacist).
  • Experience with client management, PBM pricing, and contracting strategies.
  • Strong operational and clinical knowledge, especially in Specialty Pharmacy.
  • Ability to work independently, create and execute business plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and results-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% seasonally.
