Option Care Health, Inc. is the leading home and alternate-site infusion provider in the United States. We are seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead clinical pharmacy operations, ensure patient safety, and meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include directing daily operations, mentoring staff, managing budgets and purchasing, and collaborating with nursing, delivery, reimbursement, and sales teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Current, active pharmacy license issued by a State Board of Pharmacy.
• 5–7 years of experience in a clean‑room or infusion pharmacy setting, or ≥3 years in MTM, ASHP residency, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience.
• At least 2 years of experience planning and managing departmental budgets.
• Experience compounding sterile products and managing patient care.
• Experience overseeing purchasing and inventory of pharmaceutical substances and supplies.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Active membership in a related state or national clinical/pharmacology organization.
• Ability to identify operational issues and implement solutions.
• Customer service experience with internal and external customers.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Pharmacy Manager – Job Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is a licensed professional responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to Option Care patients in accordance with company policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. The role requires collaboration with nursing, delivery, reimbursement, and operations departments to deliver high‑quality patient care while maintaining financial and operational goals.

• Manage daily operations and communications within the pharmacy department.
• Direct the activities of the pharmacy team and schedule work activities to meet patient needs.

• Oversee product purchasing, inventory, budget, and equipment management.
• Assist the General Manager in preparing, securing approval for, and implementing operating and expenditure budgets for the department.
• Ensure medication, pump, and medical supply purchase, management, and security comply with policies and formularies.
• Provide support to sales professionals and the general manager by discussing the scope of services offered by Option Care.
• Meet with managed care organizations and accounts to facilitate education regarding available services.
• Act as the Office Administrator with the Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager in the absence of the General Manager.
• Collect and organize patient‑specific information to prevent, detect, and resolve medication‑related problems, and make appropriate medication therapy recommendations.
• Monitor documentation of pharmacy care plans and evaluate competency in pharmacokinetic principles.
• Ensure medications are prepared and dispensed using appropriate techniques, calibrated equipment, and proper storage.
• Coordinate and participate in on‑call responsibilities, ensuring reliable coverage for pharmacy services.
• Manage investigational drug product use in accordance with established regulations.
• Comply with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements in all activities.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Current, active pharmacy license issued by a State Board of Pharmacy.
• 5–7 years of experience in a clean‑room or infusion pharmacy setting, or, alternatively, at least 3 years of experience in one of the following: non‑sterile compounding with MTM, completion of an ASHP‑accredited residency program, or equivalent experience approved by the VP of Pharmacy.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing staff.
• At least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets, or completion of an ASHP‑accredited residency program.
• Experience compounding sterile products and managing patient care.
• Experience overseeing the purchasing and inventory process of all pharmaceutical substances and supplies.
• Reliable transportation for home visits; valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if a personal vehicle is used.
• Active membership in a related state or national clinical, pharmaceutical, or home‑health care organization.
• Proficiency in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve them.
• Customer service experience with internal and external customers, meeting quality service standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Post‑graduate residency program in clinical pharmacy services.
• Board certification in Nutrition Support Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, or another clinical pharmacy practice area.
• Experience managing inventory and logistics in a pharmacy setting.
• At least 5 years of experience compounding sterile products and managing complex infusion patients.
• At least 3 years of experience overseeing purchasing and inventory of all pharmaceutical substances and supplies.

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within and, if necessary, outside the state).
