Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
• An average rating of at least 3.0 on the leadership behaviors on the last performance review if one is on file, and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months (Internal candidates only).

Responsibilities

• Engages patients with excellent service and resolves issues to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Models customer service best practices and Walgreens service traits across the team.
• Connects with patients to anticipate needs and promote Walgreens health services.
• Participates in events reflecting the communities Walgreens serves.
• Counsels patients on usage, interactions, and over-the-counter options; refers to medical provider when needed.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews and dispenses medications accurately while complying with regulations and policies.
• Oversees pharmacy workflow, scheduling, and staff development to maintain efficiency.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to identify opportunities and improve performance.
• Maintains pharmacy IT knowledge and supports staff with systems and documentation.
• Ensures insurance claims are processed correctly and assists with audits.
• Follows up with providers on prescriptions, dosages, allergies, and alternatives.
• Performs immunizations, diagnostic testing, and wellness services as applicable.
• Manages pharmacy department maintenance and records for compliance.
