Job summary

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Immunizer certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities and knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, and OTC products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, policies and standards; oversees staffing, scheduling, and shift changes.
• Uses Good Faith Dispensing principles with state and federal controlled substances laws when filling prescriptions.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities.

Education

BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree
