Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Health Florence Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead clinical and operational pharmacy activities in a 40-hour, full-time role. You will implement programs for safe, cost-effective drug use and provide expert drug information to clinicians and students in a regulated hospital setting.

The position requires a PharmD degree, 3–5 years of post-degree experience, and SC licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Pharm.D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 3–5 years of experience beyond the terminal degree; residency preferred.
  • Pharmacist licensure in SC or eligibility by exam/reciprocity.

Responsibilities

  • Implement programs to ensure safe and cost effective use of drugs.
  • Provide clinical consultative services and drug information to healthcare providers and students.
  • Assess/review the clinical activities of the staff pharmacists and students.
  • Oversee formulary management under the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.

Job Description


  • Implementing programs to ensure safe and cost effective use of drugs

  • Providing clinical consultative services and drug information to healthcare providers and students

  • Assessing/reviewing the clinical activities of the clinical staff pharmacists and students

  • Providing oversight to the \"formulary management\" functions which are under the aegis of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee

  • Collecting and assessing documentation of clinical service effectiveness to assist in developing new or expanded clinical service programs


Education:

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy


Experience:

Preference given to candidates who have completed a pharmacy practice residency or comparable experience (usually 3-5 years beyond the terminal degree).


Licensures/Certifications:

Pharmacist licensure in SC or eligibility for licensure via examination or reciprocity

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
