Job summary

The GIANT Company is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to supervise pharmacy staff and oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance, and manage inventory and profitability.

The role also includes MTM, immunizations, clinical programs, quality assurance, and collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards in the store pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day operations in the pharmacy department
• Accurately fill prescriptions (translate, fill, verify, and post‑verify)
• Provide customer counselling and maintain excellent customer service within the team
• Communicate with the entire healthcare team, patients, and third‑party insurance companies
• Operate computer filling systems, email, and fax machines
• Answer phones
• Inventory management, including ordering, addressing out‑of‑stocks and out‑dates, biennial physical inventory, Supply Logix, and maintaining inventory goals
• Complete and file paperwork as per company policy
• Interface with supervisory, operations, field support and store management.
• Supervise pharmacy staff – hiring, training, work assignments, performance reviews and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Assist with HBC items and HBC counselling.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state laws.
• Lead clinical programs such as MTM, diabetic education classes, health screenings, Time My Meds, and immunizations based on business needs.
• Attend twice‑year physical inventory.
• Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as required by the business.
• Provide off‑site vaccinations.
• Maintain pharmacy upkeep including floor care, construction and sanitation.

Pharmacy Manager

As the Pharmacy Manager, you will supervise the pharmacy staff (staff pharmacists, technicians, clerks and interns) ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws when dispensing prescription and non‑prescription medications. You will manage day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, focusing on patient safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, customer service, personnel and inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, workflow optimization, medication therapy management, immunizations, and clinical programs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Meet with store management regularly to review metrics, set goals and objectives.
• Develop and implement response plans for temperature excursions in the pharmacy, including after‑hours alerts to maintain refrigerated medication integrity.
• Seek out marketing opportunities in the community (immunization clinics, community participation).
