Job Overview

We are looking for a Pharmacy Manager to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the operation oversight and compliance of a small format pharmacy site, including safety, quality, customer experience, budgetary, people development, and operations objectives.

Job location: Beaver, WV

Work Schedule: M, Tu, Th, Fr 7:30am

Key Responsibilities

• Overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of the operations.
• Manage daily operations within the site, meeting CPT times for same day deliveries.
• Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness and make recommendations.
• Set and clarify requirements, expectations, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold the team to a high bar.
• Educate pharmacy staff on policies and reporting guidelines.
• Drive quality initiatives, process changes, and Lean initiatives.
• Manage workflow and escalations, delegating across leadership with Sr Pharmacy Operations Manager.
• Stay informed on local, state, and federal laws related to pharmacy practices.
• Coordinate with corporate legal to maintain licensure and monitor licensure requirements.
• Align policies with accrediting/licensing bodies (BOP, VIPPS, URAC, DEA, FDA, USP).
• Responsible for the site’s growth, partnering with capacity planning and facilities for workforce needs.
• Create, lead, engage with, and direct a workforce to drive performance through the people agenda.
• Implement change or develop new processes to better serve customers and reduce cost.
• Maintain the customer’s profile through PharmacyOS/Pharmacy Lite database.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
• Active/Good standing Pharmacist license in West Virginia.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to manage detail, establish root cause and manipulate data.
• Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1 year Staff Pharmacist experience within Amazon Pharmacy (if currently an Amazon employee).

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce.
• Experience with full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, terminations.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop others into higher levels of leadership.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the tenacity to develop ideas independently.
• Analytical thinker with project management skills, attention to detail, ability to influence others.
• Interest in long-term career development through assignments across multiple FCs.
