Job summary

GRX Holdings, LLC is seeking a Pharmacist to join our Waterloo Long Term Care location as Pharmacy Manager. You will oversee operations, ensure compliance, and supervise technicians. Hours are 9AM-5PM, Monday to Friday, with no weekend shifts.

The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree, active licensure, and 2–4 years of LTC experience. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to coordinate patient services across sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD with active license.
• Two to four years of related experience; long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Our purpose is to provide consistent, quality personal service, be genuinely concerned for our patient’s health, provide our patients with needed health information and always be readily available to our patients.

We are looking for an efficient, flexible, and highly motivated Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care team as the Pharmacy Manager at our Waterloo Long Term Care location. This role is responsible for providing consistent, high-quality pharmacy services while ensuring compliance. Hours at this location are 9AM - 5PM M-F and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Oversees all aspects of the pharmacy operations, including patient services, administration, and personnel supervision. Provides full range of patient services by filling prescriptions, counseling patients, and supervising Pharmacy Technicians. Assures that all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws. Exercises broad judgment in professional field requiring extensive subject matter knowledge and expertise, while keeping senior management fully informed of operating issues and results.

Assures that all services comply with professional standards and applicable laws while adapting to the operational needs of multiple pharmacy locations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Interprets written prescriptions, checks for drug interactions and allergies, enters prescription and patient data into the computer system, and provides prescription information to Pharmacy Technicians for filling.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and verifies all work for accuracy.
• Serves patients by counseling over the phone and in person, providing clear instructions on medication use, duration, and expected outcomes.
• Consults with healthcare professionals and conducts research as necessary to ensure optimal patient care and compliance with professional standards and state laws.
• Counsels patients, residents, and caregivers to ensure understanding of treatment plans and achievement of therapeutic goals.

Operational Responsibilities

• Reviews inventory and places medication orders as necessary while maintaining appropriate stock levels across assigned locations.
• Ensures proper billing in compliance with insurance plans, CMS, and applicable regulations.
• Maintains Schedule II perpetual inventory and ensures controlled substance compliance.
• Completes third-party rejections and maintains required daily and weekly reports.
• Follows company procedures for dispensing incidents, including timely reporting and documentation.
• Maintains working knowledge of pharmacy systems, workflows, and processes at each assigned location.

Compliance & Quality Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with all company procedures and federal and state laws, rules, and regulations across all assigned sites.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance, including reliability in covering assigned shifts at multiple locations.
• Supports quality assurance initiatives and helps maintain consistency in processes and regulatory compliance across pharmacies.
• Complies with all security and loss prevention procedures, including alarm systems and controlled substance security.

General Responsibilities

• Develops courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers across all locations.
• Maintains current state pharmacy license(s) as required for assigned locations.
• Supports company objectives and performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license (must be eligible for all states/locations served).
• Two to four years of related experience; long-term care experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
