The Pharmacy Manager oversees and is responsible for daily operations associated with the Pharmacy Department. Ensures the appropriateness of drug therapy as described in position accountabilities. Keeps all records required relating to the purchase and dispensing of all prescription required drugs including controlled substance requirements. Eliminates from stock all misbranded and adulterated drugs including outdated drugs and drugs not properly labeled. Provides for the proper storage of drugs in order to prevent loss or deterioration. Ensures coverage of the pharmacy by licensed pharmacists and against unauthorized entry into the pharmacy's dispensing and compounding area. The manager is responsible for ensuring that the medication needs of inpatients and outpatients are accurately met and for maintaining all necessary records. Participates in the development of protocols, policies, and procedures with the Regional Pharmacy Director and System Director. Participates in the development and execution of the departmental strategic and operational plans. Provides leadership direction for all pharmacy staff and is responsible for the oversight and supervision of pharmacy staff. We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison county and the town of Brandon.
