Job Details
The Pharmacy Manager – Production & Patient Care - SafeDose is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of pharmacists to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient pharmacy production. This position plays a critical role in both the execution of AnewHealth’s monthly patient order workflows and the productivity of automated pharmacy systems. Success in this role requires a strong focus on people leadership, operational excellence, technical adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of pharmacists, ensuring high morale, engagement, and adherence to AnewHealth’s Core Values and Patient Promise.
- Provide ongoing performance management including coaching, counseling, and corrective action to ensure consistent achievement of quality and productivity expectations.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that promotes retention and consistent performance.
- Operational Oversight
- Gain hands-on expertise across pharmacy production functions including ATP assignment and operation, viewing, corrections, packaging, and inventory management.
- Monitor and manage patient care workflows—routine monthly orders, STAT/SS orders, therapy changes—to ensure on-time and accurate shipment of complete profiles.
- Ensure staffing, scheduling, and workflow balance to meet daily production and patient care targets.
- Coordinate technician and pharmacist activity to ensure seamless execution of time-sensitive processes.
- Workflow Optimization & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Use visual management tools to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, delays, and quality issues through proactive adjustments.
- Collaborate with internal departments and Centers of Excellence to resolve cross-functional workflow challenges and escalate concerns early.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new tools and processes to improve STAT prioritization, therapy change management, and billing accuracy.
- Performance & Quality Management
- Track performance metrics to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality patient care and production output.
- Ensure all pharmacists are fully cross-trained across core responsibilities to allow flexible resource allocation and career development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and the overall patient experience.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a pharmacy, clinical, or patient care setting, managing 10+ direct or indirect reports.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and manage high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.
- Working knowledge of AnewHealth’s production systems and patient workflow steps, or ability to quickly gain technical expertise in automation and inventory systems.
- Experience using data and visual management tools to make real-time operational decisions and improve throughput.
- Proven ability to lead change initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, or employee engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to leadership.
