Job Overview

Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Liaison with Fairview Pharmacy Services, you will serve as a pharmacy advocate for patients on behalf of the clinicians prescribing medication.

This is a unique full-time M-F day shift position that allows a pharmacy technician to utilize/develop pharmacy and leadership skills. The Pharmacy Liaison is primarily remote although there will be travel to Fairview clinic sites in the metro area as needed.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Educating patients on their insurance prescription benefits
  • Communicating expectations, timing, and process capably to patients, caregivers, and clinics
  • Expediting patient access to specialty medications by identifying and resolving barriers on behalf of clinic care teams, including: Submitting and following prior authorizations, Supporting providers by assisting with appeals, Coordinating fulfillment of orders with dispensing pharmacies, and assisting patients in being able to financially afford their medications
  • Advising patients on their specialty pharmacy network and identifying limited distribution alternatives
  • Acting as an advocate for our specialty pharmacy
  • Partner with multiple specialties and clinics
  • Develop expertise in (at least) one clinical specialty to act as a subject matter expert for the larger liaison team, clinic, and our partners in access services
  • Establishing relationships with industry representatives and reimbursement managers to maintain current knowledge on available financial assistance programs

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience as a pharmacy technician, working with specialty medications, prior authorizations, and/or coordinating work with multiple stakeholders. Communication skills, interpersonal skills, adaptability are critical. Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently, to grow and develop, and to be an integral part of the team is necessary.

This position requires either the equivalent combination of education and related pharmacy technician experience or a bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field.

It also requires one year of pharmacy technician experience, registration as a pharmacy technician and national technician certification within six months of hire.

Compensation Disclaimer

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
