Job summary

AndHealth in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Pharmacy Liaison (Patient Engagement Specialist) for a full-time, on-site role at our health center partner site. You will process prescriptions, input insurance data, perform fulfillment, and support patients at pickup while ensuring safety and accuracy across the pharmacy workflow.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of pharmacy experience, IN pharmacy tech certification, and PTCB/ExCPT certification (or plan to obtain). A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Input patient data, insurance, and prescriptions into the pharmacy system.
• Count, pour, and label medications with safety compliance.
• Assist patients at pickup, resolve insurance rejections.
• Manage inventory, stocking, cycle counts, and aging stock.
• Coordinate prior authorizations with the pharmacist.
• Advocate for patients, support financial assistance programs.
• Monitor adherence with outreach calls for refills.
• Maintain proper handling of cold-chain biologics and specialty injectables.
• Provide on-site or cross-site remote support as needed.
• Support other projects as business needs evolve.

Pharmacy Liaison (Patient Engagement Specialist)

We are looking for Patient Engagement Specialists to play an important role at AndHealth. This is an onsite position located at our Health Center partner site in Indianapolis, IN.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Prescription Processing: Accurately input patient data, insurance information, and prescriptions into the pharmacy management system.
• Fulfillment: Count, pour, and label medications efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Customer Experience: Support patients at the pickup counter, resolving insurance rejections, and providing clear communication regarding medication status.
• Inventory Management: Execute stocking, cycle counts, and managing outdated inventory.
• Prior Authorization Coordination: Collaborate with the pharmacist to gather clinical documentation and submitting prior authorizations for medication including high‑cost specialty drugs if needed.
• Patient Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and manufacturers to help patients access financial assistance programs or copay cards.
• Adherence Monitoring: Conduct outreach calls to specialty patients to schedule refills and ensure they are following their prescribed therapy.
• Cold Chain Management: Ensure proper handling and storage of temperature‑sensitive biologics and specialty injectables.
• Other: Maintain flexibility to provide on‑site support or cross‑site remote assistance, ensuring operational continuity as business needs evolve.
• Support other projects based on business needs.

Education & Licensure Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Certified or Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of IN required.
• Nationally certified - PTCB or ExCPT required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain licenses or certifications in multiple states.

Other Skills or Qualifications:

• 3+ years of pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple things simultaneously.
• Comfortable with technology and the ability to adapt to new systems.
• The position may require some travel. Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.
• Must be organized and able to work independently.
