Job summary

Woman's Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Director to plan, organize, direct and manage the Pharmacy Department, including Retail Pharmacy and the Residency Program, with clinical and regulatory oversight across Cancer Pavilion Infusion Pharmacy.

The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent and licensure with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy, plus minimum five years of management experience in clinical pharmacy. Monday–Friday schedule with a pay range of $149,000–$222,000.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of inpatient and retail pharmacy operations and leads both areas to ensure safe, efficient services.
• Promotes medication safety and quality improvement across departments; identifies risks and implements improvements.
• Maintains compliance with federal/state laws, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing, and other professionals to support safe, evidence-based therapy.
• Provides leadership for retail pharmacy operations including dispensing, customer service, workflow, inventory and compliance.
• Manages procurement, formulary, storage, distribution, utilization and inventory processes.
• Utilizes pharmacy information systems, automation, EHR functionality and other tech to support safe medication management.
• Manages budgets, staffing, inventory, purchasing and other resources balancing patient care and operations.
• Develops staffing models and promotes recruitment, retention and professional development of staff.
• Builds relationships with medical staff and hospital departments to support coordinated patient care and organizational goals.
• Uses data to evaluate performance and implement improvements.
• Develops strategies to grow and sustain inpatient and retail services.
