Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass the PTCB National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and hold current certification.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy certification exemption as Technician Trainee until exam.
• Two years of Pharmacy Technologist experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control all floor stock and medication inventory; reconcile withdrawals weekly.
• Issue controlled substances to nursing staff and maintain required records.
• Maintain and update computer system database as required.
• Store and rotate inventory; check expiration dates and stock levels.
• Prepare expired medications for return or destruction according to policy.
• Process orders with wholesalers/manufacturers; receive stock and file records.
• Perform monthly nursing unit inspections including fridge/freezer temperatures.
• Maintain pharmacy records per Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
