Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a pharmacy intern to assist in dispensing medications to patients at Shands Hospital and the University of Florida Clinics. You will evaluate orders under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and contribute to safe patient care.

The position requires Florida intern licensure or enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program, with a preference for prior pharmacy practice.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an intern by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
• Must be enrolled in an intern program at an accredited school or college of pharmacy or be a graduate of an accredited school or college of pharmacy and not yet licensed as a pharmacist in the state.
• Must be able to operate typewriter, calculator and computer terminal.
• Must be able to work with others, speak and communicate effectively, and have a positive attitude.
• Previous experience in pharmacy practice desirable.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the dispensing of medications to patients of Shands Hospital and the University of Florida Clinics.
• Exercising professional judgment in evaluating all medication orders written for ambulatory patients under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
