Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pharmacy Intern (YR2) to support the Pharmacy Department by ensuring accurate and timely medication delivery under pharmacist supervision. You will develop a full understanding of the drug distribution system and gain hands-on experience in dispensing, verification, and order entry.

As part of the team, you will counsel patients on medications, monitor therapies, and assist clinicians by gathering information to support safe use of pharmaceuticals.

Qualificações

• Must be pursuing a Pharmacist degree.
• Massachusetts pharmacist intern license required.
• Pharmacy experience 1–2 years preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Supports the Pharmacy Department mission by ensuring the right patient receives the right medication under supervision.
• Understands drug distribution system and performs duties delivering medications to patient care areas.
• Gains experience with interpretation, verification, order entry, compounding and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
• May disseminate drug information.
• Collaborates with treatment team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Counsels patients on prescription and OTC medications and devices.
• Monitors therapies by reviewing profiles and labs; ensures compliance with guidelines.
• Assists pharmacists in gathering information to advise nurses and doctors on medications.
• Fills and delivers medications for nursing units and automated dispensing cabinets after pharmacist check.
• Adheres to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Performs medication history interviews, first-dose teaching, and discharge counseling.
