Job summary

First Roles in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacy team in delivering outstanding patient care. You will input patient and prescription information, dispense medications, and assist with immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist, while answering questions about products and over-the-counter options.

Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy and a current Pharmacy Intern license are required.

Qualifications

Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
Hold a current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.

Responsibilities

Promote trust and respect among associates.
Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products and discuss with customers and prescribers.
Provide drug counseling to customers.
Assist with over the counter medications recommendations.
Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
Dispense the correct medication.
Contact prescribers' offices for authorization.
Process third party insurance information for customers.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report all safety risk or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
Provide immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
