Vibra Hospital of Fargo is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Intern to join our team. Under a pharmacist's supervision, you will help prepare and distribute medications, maintain inventory, and support patient safety initiatives in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and enrollment as a Pharmacy Student meeting state board requirements. A valid driver’s license is preferred for site deliveries.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy student meeting Board of Pharmacy requirements to function as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for multi-facility delivery.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, prepare and distribute medications.
• Maintain drug inventory and confidential patient records.
• Assist with intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous preparations.
• Participate in antibiotic stewardship and uphold patient safety standards.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician Intern to join our team!

Saturdays (8:00am - 4:00pm)

Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of Fargo, located in Fargo, ND, is a 31 bed Critical Care Hospital, providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system. Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records. May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Required Skills

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Student meeting the Board of Pharmacy requirements to function as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
