Job summary

Walgreens seeks a Pharmacy Intern to learn and provide the best patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Under supervision, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy, review third-party processing, and help with entering, filling and dispensing prescriptions.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist and pharmacy team members to provide patient experience in accordance with regulations.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Support pharmacy operations including entering, third party processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist with patient counseling and other health services within state scope of practice for pharmacy interns.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to quality procedures.
