Job summary

PriceChopper in the Massachusetts Market Area is seeking a Pharmacist Grad Intern to work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in meeting patient and pharmacy business needs.

You will assist with prescriptions, inventory, and customer service, while learning ACIP immunization guidelines and confidential patient counseling as part of a dynamic retail pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• Friendly, helpful and outstanding attitude with superior customer service.

• Knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy.
• Knowledge of common insurance plans and billing procedures.
• 1 year previous experience in a community pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all state and federal regulations related to the practice of pharmacy.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Counsels patients in the use of medications in a confidential manner.
• Receives new prescriptions via phone; interprets prescriptions from prescribers.
• Obtains information for new prescriptions (name, address, DOB, insurance, allergies, phone).
• Processes prescriptions accurately including entering details, dispensing, and managing orders.
• Develops knowledge of inventory control and vendor returns.
• Works to ensure optimal workflow and communicates with patients when issues arise.
