Job summary

Kroger in Nashville, TN is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist the pharmacist in delivering safe, accurate prescriptions, counseling customers, and stocking the department. You will learn under supervision, gain hands-on experience with prescription processing, immunizations, and patient interactions in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a U.S. pharmacy program.
• Holds a current state Pharmacy Intern license.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer customer questions about products in the store.
• Gain knowledge of pharmaceutical products and discuss these with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers.
• Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense the correct medication.
• Contact prescribers’ offices for authorization.
• Process third party insurance information for customers.
• Provide immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
