Job summary

Walgreens in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn and assist the pharmacist and team in delivering excellent patient care while complying with regulations. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, and you will model a distinctive customer experience.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist in dispensing and patient counseling, participate in inventory and safety procedures, and support store operations.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers by greeting them and assisting with products and services to ensure a positive experience; resolve questions and issues.
• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision in line with state/federal policies and Walgreens SOPs.
• Support pharmacy team with prescribed entries, third-party processing, filling, and dispensing per procedures.
• Help deliver patient care services within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns (e.g., patient counseling).
• Report prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies.
