Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to translate classroom knowledge into real-world practice within our pharmacy teams. Under a preceptor, you will follow a structured training roadmap, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to safe, efficient prescription processing in a retail setting.

You will learn SOPs, participate in immunizations and clinical services as allowed, and develop communication and teamwork skills while delivering caring service that aligns

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Preferred: immunization certification and ability to work across CVS market; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Provide empathetic, caring service to patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone.
• Counsel patients and collect medical history information to provide optimal care under supervision.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions when allowed.
• Coach and mentor pharmacy team members and share best practices.
• Complete basic inventory activities and cycle counts.
• Contribute to a high‑performing team and be open to feedback.
• Be flexible with scheduling and travel to stores as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and CVS policies for patient safety and privacy.
• Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) when trained.
