UC Health is hiring a part-time Pharmacy Intern for the Specialty Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Center. The intern provides support to pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and leadership in all aspects of providing pharmacy services under supervision.

UC Health is hiring a part time Pharmacy Intern for the Specialty Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Center.
The Pharmacy Intern provides support to pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership in all aspects of providing pharmacy services. Functions performed under the supervision of a pharmacist include but are not limited to interdisciplinary patient care rounds, admission medication history, medication counseling and patient education, drug information, drug dosing, drug preparation, drug distribution, and medication administration as allowed by law.

Education: High school diploma or GED, the minimum required. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy, the minimum required.
License and Certification: Current pharmacy intern registration that is recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Work Experience: 0-6 months of equivalent experience, the minimum required. 1-2 years equivalent experience, preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $19.00/hr.- $24.01/hr. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.
