Job summary

Parkview Health Services in Buffalo, NY is seeking Pharmacy Interns to support pharmacists in a closed-door pharmacy setting. This internship targets students enrolled in an accredited PharmD program and offers evening shifts.

Under supervision, you will assist with order processing, medication preparation, reviews, compliance tasks, and workflow management while adhering to federal and state regulations. Interns typically work 2 evening shifts per week during school, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a PharmD program and hold an active NY intern permit.
• Must be able to work one evening shift per week until 10pm.
• Must rotate Friday evening and Saturday hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining workflow to ensure efficient and compliant pharmacy operation.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment per Board of Pharmacy rules and company policy.
• Stay current on pharmacology by studying legislation and continuing education.
• Assist health care providers and home agencies by answering questions and taking verbal orders.
• Maintain effective communications with facilities to support patient care and relationships.
• Read medication orders, input into the pharmacy system, and properly bill claims.
• Perform drug interaction checks and contact providers with questions or concerns.
• Maintain records of physicians' orders and prescriptions.
• Provide information on drug interactions, dosages, and proper medication use and disposal.
• Perform non-sterile medication compounding per USP 795.
