Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications in a hospital setting in New York. The role supports inventory management, medication preparation, and IV compounding under supervision.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in an ACPE-accredited program (end of 3rd year or above) with hospital pharmacy experience preferred and a valid Pharmacy Intern Permit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ACPE College of Pharmacy (end of 3rd year or above).
• 1 year hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
• Pharmacy Intern Permit required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medication.
• Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules and prepares labels for bottles.
• Fills medications orders for individual patients under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Prepares intravenous (IV) medication using sterile technique under the supervision of hospital pharmacists.

Education

Enrolled in ACPE College of Pharmacy (end of 3rd year or above)
